Mount Graham Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome Eryn David, MS, RDN, as our new dietician. She brings over five years of experience here to our community.
She grew up in the Pacific Northwest while her husband, David David, was born and raised here in the Gila Valley. After traveling the world in the Military, David retired, and “they could not think of a better place to call home,” say’s Eryn. They returned to his hometown of Safford, AZ, and bought his childhood home. Where they currently live with four of their six children. David will start teaching and coaching football at Thatcher High School this fall.
Eryn graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in Food Science and then received her M.S. in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan University. From there, she went to Washington D.C. to completed her dietetic internship through The Sodexo Dietetic Internship Program, with a focus on Critical Care Nutrition. Eryn has specialized in eating disorders and intuitive eating, gastrointestinal diseases, diabetes, cardiac health, and women’s health and pregnancy.
She has spent most of her professional career working with children and adults in different residential and outpatient eating disorder programs. With a heavy focus on pediatric nutrition education to help facilitate long-term healthy food relationships and quality of life. As well as nutritional, medical care from a weight-neutral standpoint to honor both physical and mental health in those, she works with. This expertise will greatly benefit our entire community.
You can come and meet Eryn in our Diabetes Family Support Group on the 2nd Thursday of each month, 11:00 am- 12:00 pm. Held in the MGRMC Board Room or come learn how to manage your or a family’s member’s diabetes, during Eryn’s Diabetes Education Class also held the 2nd Thursday of each month 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm, in the MGRMC Cancer Center Classroom.
With no plans to stop there, Eryn will be adding additional classes available to those in our community, starting will Chronic Disease and Self-Management Workshops, “Feeding the Picky Eater,” Prenatal Nutrition, Healthy Food Relationships, and Intuitive Eating classes. Each of these workshops will help provide everyone who participates with an array of tools that can help them reach their health and nutrition goals.
We are delighted to invite them home and have Eryn here as part of our MGRMC family. We are excited about the value we know she will bring to our community.
